Sustainability with a Soul
Our Commitment
Empowering Communities, Preserving Culture.
Bamboleira was born to celebrate the creative power of conscious, handcrafted art. Through our collaboration with the Wounaan women — an Indigenous community displaced by conflict in Colombia — we’ve built a model that honors both culture and craft. Each piece tells a story of resilience, connection, and the beauty of tradition passed from one generation to another.
Khognaan Bamboleira
A Family Before a Brand.
“Khognaan Bamboleira” means Bamboleira Family in Woun Meu, the native language of the Wounaan. Our workshops and offices are located within their community in Bogotá, designed not just as workspaces, but as places to share, play, and grow together. We adapt our brand to their rhythms, values, and family life — ensuring that every artisan works in harmony with her role as a mother, daughter, and woman.
Conscious Craftsmanship
Made with Respect
Each Bamboleira piece is handcrafted using recycled materials such as copper, gold, and silver. We carefully reuse chemical solutions in our processes and minimize waste generation, ensuring every step honors both people and planet. Every creation is a dialogue between nature, color, and craftsmanship — a balance of sustainability and beauty.
Lasting Impact
Design That Creates Change.
Bamboleira contributes to three UN Sustainable Development Goals: Gender Equality (SDG 5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). By generating fair income, providing leadership training, and promoting financial independence, we help transform lives and inspire new generations of women artisans.
